Doulton Sterasyl 10” Candle with Short
Mount
Doulton 8.5” Sterasyl 1 micron ceramic filter cartridge (candle) –
includes 2 rings
Part Number W9120562
The Doulton Sterasyl Ceramic Filter Candle is a self-sterilizing filter
that can be re-used over and over again to provide good filtration at an
economical price.
TheDoultonSterasyl Candle is a highly efficient ceramic micro
filter that provides genuine sub micron filtration of drinking water. Sterasyl
is manufactured with the highly consistent and controlled pore structure
necessary to remove a wide range of water contaminants over the life of the
cartridge. The candle has been made in accordance with NSF protocols for cyst,
bacteria, turbidity, particulate, and chlorine reductions (Class 1). The
incorporation of silver locked within the ceramic structure inhibits the growth
of bacteria and gives each cartridge enhanced bacteriostatic and self
sterilizing properties for safe handling and cleaning. Absolute filtration is
0.9 µm. (0.5 µm. ANSI standard); NSF Certification 42/53..
The candle fits any standard
2"x10" filter canister incorporating a 3/4in.(19mm) threaded mount in the base. Canisters,
such as Doulton and British Berkefeld gravity filters, Katadyn
Ceradyn pressure or drip filters, and Chanson C3 and Ultra Filtration systems use
the threaded mount.
The unique advantage of the Candleis that it can be renewed by
simply brushing its outer surface with a stiff toothbrush, plastic brush or
soft scouring pad under running water. As the top layer of ceramic and the
contaminants are brushed off and flushed away, a new layer becomes available.
The candle can renewed several times or until the diameter of the slim-line
element reaches 1.75 inches.
